I’ll be doing a couple more Makers Markets before Christmas. The first one is the Uttoxeter Makers Market (my original home town) on Saturday October 22nd. After that I’ll be doing one at Trentham Estate, on Saturday 26th November. These markets are great opportunities to treat yourself or to buy gifts from one of the myriad stalls.

I've started doing a few selective craft fairs and markets; it's nice to actually meet the buyers and also good for them to see what they're buying in real life rather than via photos. Last weekend I did the first Crewe Makers Market in the town where I live. I will hopefully be booking a few more in various venues in the run up to Christmas.

Art in the Pen the aftermath

So we just spent the weekend in Skipton at the Art in the Pen event. Despite it being a blisteringly hot weekend in the cattle market where the event took place, it was great to see so many people out browsing the vast array of stalls.  It was great to get the opportunity to chat to both customers and other stall holders.

Latest news

I haven’t had a lot of time lately to create much original work, but I’ve been continuing with my bread and butter makes, the bird baths, bee baths, bird feeders and calla lilies. In my spare time I’ve also been experimenting with pyrography, which means writing with fire. Obviously this is totally different to metal sculpture as it involves burning onto wood, but I’m hoping to add it as another string to my creative bow.
